Developmental Disabilities Advisory Council releases Report on OPWDD’s supports of people during COVID 19 Pandemic
No surprises: OPWDD did not do well!
Home-Enabling Supports (HES)
OPWDD's ADM #2024-02 announces a new program called Home-Enabling Supports (HES), now available to people who live in their communities in uncertified homes and are enrolled in the OPWDD Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Waiver.
HES uses technology and tools to help people with developmental disabilities live more independently by reducing their reliance on staff in their home and community.
What Home-Enabling Supports May Include
- Independence and safety devices — smart locks, fall-detection sensors
- Remote support technology — emergency call buttons, two-way video
- Health and daily task management — automated medication dispensers, communication devices
Is HES Right for You?
If you or your family want to learn more about Home-Enabling Supports and whether they could be a good fit, talk to your Care Manager. They can help determine your eligibility and walk you through how to get started.
